Picked Clean

Yesterday, we went to the apple tree again. Remember, I said I wanted more apple sauce? Even if I didn't want more, it is hard to let perfectly good apples go to waste.

There were some beauties left on that tree. We picked a brown bag and a half. We picked that tree clean. A few went to the cows and horse, and some of the tiny ones will go to the deer, but the rest are dedicated to sauce and maybe one more batch of apple butter.

There is also a persimmon tree in the field. I have never done anything with persimmons, but Bootstraps and Biscuits has several recipes. Again, it is hard to just see good fruit on a tree and not use it. Anyone used persimmons before? Are they worth the work? I would love some input!
